Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Pakecom collects, why, and how it is handled. It is a product policy framework and does not claim compliance with any specific law (e.g. GDPR/CCPA) unless our implementation actually supports it.
What information we collect
Account details (name, email, company), profile and verification information for suppliers, order and RFQ data, messages/disputes, and usage data needed to operate the marketplace.
Why we collect it
To provide the marketplace: create accounts, connect buyers and suppliers, process orders, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service.
How orders require certain information
Placing an order requires a shipping address and contact details so suppliers can fulfil and ship the order. This information is shared with the supplier of that order for fulfilment.
How supplier information is displayed
Verified supplier profiles show public business information (company name, location, categories, ratings and performance metrics) to help buyers make informed decisions. Private contact details are not shown publicly.
How payment information is handled
Payments are handled by third-party providers (Stripe, PayPal). Pakecom does not store raw card numbers; only payment status and provider references are kept with the order.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage for authentication (secure session tokens) and essential functionality. You can decline non-essential cookies where offered.
Security
Passwords are hashed (bcrypt) and never stored in plain text; session refresh tokens are stored hashed; access to sensitive routes is authenticated and role-based.
Your rights
You can access and update your profile, change your password, and request deletion of your account by contacting support. Some records may be retained where required for transactions or fraud prevention.
Data retention
We retain account, order, and moderation records for as long as needed to operate the marketplace, resolve disputes, and meet operational requirements.
